Also known as the hoist way, the elevator shaft is unfortunately an area that is often forgotten or considered secondary. Not many people realize that over time dust, debris, dirt and other types of hazardous substances can build on the shaft triggering fire hazards, increasing high risk of faulty machinery and unexpected breakdowns.
